Hey guys, was thinking of going for a concert at SCH. My 4 years in NCHS and i've only been concert once and that was with sylvester and crystal's batch of seniors! Typing this reminds me of how little exposure you guys have. So, the concert i was thinking of watching is this :
The current Chairman and Artistic Director of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, Wang Fu Jian, is known for his suave, yet passionate style of conducting. He has always been committed to the exploration and creation of folk music; in 1985, he became the first conductor of the Youth Chinese Orchestra for the China Central Conservatory of Music. Launching concerts of contemporary works with folk music in Beijing, he became a national pioneer of such modern works. In this rare musical feast, Wang Fu Jian will direct the Singapore Chinese Orchestra to perform the first great works of modern Chinese music, including Tang Jian Ping's Dragon Leaps to the East and Heaven as well as Xu Jing Xin’s Rain of a Spring Night, including his personal creation, Dance of the Clouds.

Its on 26 and 27 march but if we are to go, we should be choosing the 27 march one. Cos School Anniversary is on 26!
I chose this one because it is in March so we can watch it before we(seniors) can all busy preparing for Os. Also, it features Ling Hock Siang on Erhu and Qu Jian Qing on Yangqin.
I think watching a live concert would be great especially if you're like me. There are only about 20% of Chinese Orchestra related videos on youtube that i HAVENT watch. -.- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay back to topic, so at least we are watching an erhu performer and not just a SCO performance so its even more related to us!
I'm not forcing anyone here to watch but i think its a great way for us to :
- Improve by learning from others
- Bond! ( I thought someone said wanted a huqin outing the other time during the hols?)
- HAVE FUN!

And I want to stress again that nobody is FORCED to watch this because some of you might have financial difficulties. From what i heard from my friend, we can get student price tickets at $20. I suppose you can see that from the website pricing :
